HTC has extensive portfolio of civil engineering tunnel design projects, utilizing most types of construction techniques and materials. We have designed and supervised the construction of tunnels ranging from small timber headings and pipe jacks for utility companies to larger diameter transport and infrastructure projects. Our designs have included segmental construction in concrete, steel and cast iron, as well as traditional steel and concrete.

Our company has also carried out a number of feasibility studies and concept designs for clients to enable the review of proposals to construct new tunnel works in congested and difficult sites. In many cases these new works must negotiate other underground services. As an aid to this process we utilize extensive 3d modeling for this work in addition to modern finite element computer software packages to analyze the complex tunnel geometry.
